Still trying to be spring.

As  you see, the snow is gone again. We’ll probably have more showers but for now its lovely, blue sky, and warm.  Got up to 71 today.  It’s back into the 30’s tonight, tho, so not quite spring yet.

Here’s Randy out fixing the sprinkler he broke last fall by dropping a dead alder right on it! Good shot had he been aiming for it. but he’s good at plumbing, too and it’s all fixed for when that time comes again.

Had to take my car into Weaver to the body shop to get the fender and tail light replaced from when that pine tree backed into me.  We also picked up the nail order and some groceries.

I have a bunch of looms to ship tomorrow but we took the day off. First time we’ve spent a day out of the loom shop in two weeks. We needed that,  I did get a little done on my weaving project this evening but have not been getting much time to use them, too busy making them! 🙂  Hope you are enjoying yours, too.

Oops… spoke too soon!

This little fellow is actually in Sis’ s yard but ours look pretty much the same this morning.  We got between an inch and two of very light and fluffy snow. This morning the sun is out in a blue sky and the little breeze sets this stuff flying and falling all over again.

Randy had to go fix broken plumbing… Temps in the 20’s again… but once the crisis is over he’ll be back in the loom shop with me. We brought home a load of lumber yesterday and looking forward to this snow melting (again! ;-)) a dozen bags of manure for the gardens.

Hope you are getting some sunny and warm!

Hello

I just wanted to say that I am still here but have been so busy in the loom shop that I have hardly had time for anything else! I did get invited to send in my project to the Handwoven sock yarn contest. I’m rather proud of that. Don’t know if anything will come of it, but once they decide … one way or the other… I guess I’ll be able to show you. Even if they don’t like it, I do ! lol

Meantime, I hope you are getting some spring! Our snow has melted again and the sun is shinning this morning. I know some of you have had way too much winter for one winter so I’m wishing you an equal warm sunny spring!

We’re heading north tomorrow to pick up Randy’s new boots and re-stock the wood shop. This last couple of busy months have nearly depleted our stores. And he wants to visit with our Alaskan friend who is wintering this year in Oregon to discuss the trip up he wants to make.

But it’s back in the shop this morning…

Springtime….

Took this though the screen at the bedroom door. The white in the background is just what you think. Got about three inches on Tuesday. Rained some off yesterday but it looks like we have more coming in tonight. Meanwhile some optimistic color in the pot on the steps. The green netting is to (I hope) discourage the greys from digging everything up. I have hardly a pot of planter in the yard that hasn’t been excavated. It’s bad enough the darned squirrels plant their acorns in my flowers but then they can’t remember where they did hide them so dig up everything in their search!  I’m beginning to think I might enjoy my Dad’s old favorite.. Squirrel Stew!

But I’m getting some weaving time when I’m not in the shop making looms. If you’re on Ravelry, check the Small Looms group, the Doll WAL. A new cutie’s been posted!

Spring time?

Beaver dam

Randy has been trying to discourage this family since they moved in last fall but they seem determined to stay. The problem is that they have damed off our access to Coffee Creek and the water way to Treasure Creek which runs though the residential district. (if it can be called that in our little village) This is going to make a lot of people unhappy. A lot of fishes and frogs & raccoons, too. I am hoping that Randy and the beavers can work out a way for all of us to share the water. The trouble will come in the late summer when the creek starts getting low.  We have not yet been able to get a photo of the workers themselves.

Spring is peeking out up here in the mts, tho. At least things are budding and the daffies and tulips are started out of the ground. I even have primroses blooming! You guys who are still buried under feet of snow… keep the faith, it will happen there too!

New videos

I’ve finally gotten my camera memory and am making the promised weaving videos. Sis will be posting them to the web site asap but meantime check Weaver Hazel on YouTube.

We have the new Multi Triangle loom posted to the web page, too, now and I will be making a couple videos for weaving on them as well.

Did not get to make my shopping trip this week as the snow blower is stuck, broke down in 6′ of snow, in the pass so the road is closed. I’m told they are expecting parts today and should have the road open by … maybe… Friday. I’ll probably save my trip for Sunday or Monday now.

Blue Sky & Sunshine!

It was so nice to see the sun coming up through the snowy trees this morning!

We have 6 to 8 inches of very wet snow. Power has been out three times, most likely from trees falling in the newly cut right of way for the new transmission lines. But the guys go right on it so the longest we were dark was just 6 hours.

We have gotten a lot of stock built up in the shop this week, tho, as it was not a good snow for playing in, being so wet. Excellent for the years water supply but not the fluffy stuff you want for snowball fights!  😀  Cori, the heavily furred pooch, thinks it is just fine. She’s out sporting around Randy as he shovels paths and drainage this morning.

In case you missed it, we introduced out new Multi Triangle loom yesterday. Check the web page. This one  is a cutie!

It’s not raining….

But we’re up to nearly 3″ of the white stuff so far.

It's not raining...

Supposed to do this all day. It’s wet, too. Power was out twice already for minutes. Would not be surprised to have it fail for hours. But I’m off to the shop to put nails in the new Multi Triangles until it does. Then I may be able to weave on my curtain project if I can see by the window light.  But… maybe we won’t lose power and I’ll be posting here again today. 😀
