Life in the fast lane…

drawingtable. (71k image)

Haven’t been posting… nothing to say and no time to say it in. Got my new drawing table but don’t have time this summer to use it! Oh well, I’m off to the loom shop to try to get more orders out. The new shop is coming along… slowly but we !are! making progress.
I’ll leave you with a pun to lighten your day (I hope! )

“Doc, I can’t stop singing ‘The Green, Green Grass of Home.'”
“That sounds like Tom Jones Syndrome.”
“Is it common?”
“Well, It’s Not Unusual.”

Stay cool! 🙂

D & T Sighting

Denise and Toni stopped in on their extended yarn buying trip to visit and look at the looms. They are covering 4 states but Toni says there’s no way they can stop at all 130 shops on her list! lol I bet they do okay, tho!

Newest baby jacket

Baby-Jacket-Cap2 (138k image)

I wove this set from some superwash sock yarn I bought at BSG last month. It is really a sport weight yarn and is soft and colorful. I machine washed it and it fulled just the right amount to make it fill in and soften. The jacket is 5 -14″ squares and the cap is 2-7″ squares. The bands are knitted. I have been wanting to try this in a super wash since wool is so much warner & softer than acrylic but it will still have the ease of care that mothers need with a baby.
I tied on some ducky buttons, temporarily, but forgot that and all but one came off in the machine. I don’t think I like the yellow duckies with this color anyway so will remove the last one and go back to the button box.

Beat’n the heat!

creek1 (111k image)

It was a couple degrees cooler today but still way too hot. But I found a way to beat the heat! Sitting on the bridge over Treasure Creek with my legs in that nice cool mountain water and my knittin’ in my lap. And yes, I did manage to drop a bit of the wool in the wet, but it’s cold water so didn’t hurt it! Tomorrow I might get some plastic needles and acrylic yarn and just go sit in the water! Hope it’s cool where you are!

Hotter’n darn-it

tomato (174k image)

My poor tomatoes are wilting, the lawn is turning brown and the water company is dry. I can do a bit of sprinkling on the pump, but it’s not keeping up. We’re supposed to get a break from this 100+ weather next week. Oh how I long for a cool 90 degree day!:P
Randy’s the new water master and has had all this dumped in his inexperienced lap! They made him water master because he’s nearly the only one in the company under 75 and physically able. And it’s not like he hasn’t anything else to do. Probably nearly the only one also, who has a full time job. (and moon-lights, too!)
He worked on water business all day and I hope he’s going to get some loom time in this evening before people start writing me evil emails about where their looms are. We’re peddling as fast as we can!
