December has flown by and here I am not posting again. Been busy but that’s a poor excuse, isn’t it.
It has rained off all the snow but there is more predicted for today. We’ll see. Poor sleep last night. The bear was back for his weekly pass though but stopped here for a couple hours. We got a new fridge and the old one is setting in the driveway waiting to be hauled off. Still smells like food tho, I guess, if you have a bear nose. He did get it open and pulled out the drawers trying to find some goodies. Dog barking, husband yelling… I hope he doesn’t come back tonight.
I have Christmas songs on the XM this morning and am working on a holiday sweater for one of my dolls. I might get ambitious later and do some domestics. Himself has gone to help a neighbor move and then to visit his step-mom so I have the whole day to goof off. Yeah, that part about getting ambitious might have been a fairy tale.

A visitor
We had a little light snow last night and a visitor came by to check out the trash cans. Afraid he was disappointed, tho as we never put anything out until an hour or so before pick up. He walked the length of the driveway (150 yards?), checked the neighbors can and wandered on up the hill. As you can see the snow has already started filling his tracks, but is turning to rain now.

Winter has arrived, I guess.
It started about 7pm last night. Power was out in the night but the guys got it on for about an hour this morning, just time enough to make a pot of coffee, thank goodness, before it went off again. 8 and a half hours later we have finally got power again. The fridge is still trying to catch up. But we have hot turkey soup for dinner and a fire in the wood stove so we are cozy! We’re supposed to get a couple days of partly sunny before the next one. Might melt off a bit of this nearly 12″ of new white. Took this early this morning though the bedroom blinds. That’s Randy’s Jay feeder. Hope your holiday weekend went happily!

The scarf is easy and economical to weave and would make a great Christmas gift as well. The scarf I am weaving was made using the 12″ square loom but this scarf can also be woven using the 7″ square.
Welcome to November!
The temperature was 41 this morning, on the warm side, but the mt. tops are white, none the less. The trees that still have leaves are brightly colored and I have this ready to go into the oven. I have never grow Jack Be Little pumpkins before so have not a clue what will become of them I did them like apples, brown sugar spices and some raisins. I thought about adding some ginger cookies crumbs but the local store did not have any ready at hand. Well, x your fingers for them!
I’ve been working on the toddler clothing. I have some nice cotton bamboo blend but it kind of a wimpy color, I’ll need to find something to give it some kick.
I worked in the shop a bit but had to give it up as I kept hitting my thumb with the hammer. So I’ve been doing book work most of the day. Gaaa!
Well, I see Himself is home. Must be Game Time! Go Giants!
A last harvest
The apples are the last thing on the harvest list. These are destined to be one pie and some applesauce. There is one more tree, a neighbor who does not use hers offered them to Randy and he said yes! Hope your autumn is rosy!
Autumn
Randy built a fire in the shop stove this morning. He said it was for me, Ain’t that thoughtful! lol We have not had a frost yet but as you see, the leaves are turning anyway. This is grand father’s Hickory, maybe the only one this side of the Mississippi. It puts on a great show every year. Reminds me of butterscotch. The Woodbine on the porch is bright red and maroon, and tho the maples are starting to turn a little there is not much color elsewhere.
Well, there is this bit, below. A classic fall picture in this area. I guess I need to remove the pumpkins and the flower vase from the top of the wood stove as I am guessing there will be a fire in it this evening. Hope your autumn is cozy! Get your looms out & get a start on winter projects!
Autumn Rain
Rained lightly this morning but all in all a lovely day for going to town, where it was sunny and pleasant, the kind of day you hope for is you have to go to Redding, CA. I did bring home my new computer. I hope I can get it set up and figured out. x your fingers for me!
We sent Justin home because he starts school tomorrow. But it’s kind if lonely around here now, too. Sis came down today to spend some time this week while Randy is off working on his step mom’s place, so I am not altogether alone.
And it’s a good thing she did come as she was able to discover the problem with my computer so I am once again able to post photo’s here and my stamps program is working again so I don’t have to make the 16 mile trip to the post office every day to ship looms!
And she told me I was making pictures too big for this blog so this time I’m being conservative. Here are Justin and I before we headed to the airport. I don’t need that orange sweater today, for sure, as the temps are back into the 90’s for a couple days before taking a sharp dip back into the 70’s. What a weather year we’re having! lol Hope your summer has been interesting!
