Okay, it’s been a busy couple months, my excuse for not posting. But fair time is over and we’re now home for the winter, barring a few doc appts, probably. Two days ago we started the killing frost night so bye-bye garden. I still have the dehydrator working with some veggies and he just picked a couple field lugs of pears. They’ll be butter, some canned, and also in there to dry for snacks. And it’s apple picking time. A lot of work but I really enjoy my apples! Mostly chunky apple sauce, but some frozen for pies. I’ll probably can a few quarts, too. They came in handy this summer when the rest were gone. Rooting in the freeze yesterday I found a last bag of apples from last year for pie. They were starting to age, but backed up nicely. Needed to be used.
Not sure what button I pushed here but it is stacking everything up and not letting me arrange things Like I want. sigh… I seem to have a knack for screwing up this blog site. Or for that matter, most things computer. Ah well, if you’re interested I guess you’ll read it anyway. Not that I have much to say. The woodbine is turning red, the maples are turning yellow, I’m turning in earlier every night, just seem exhausted these days. I hope you are all looking forward to winter with the Perfect amount of snow, whatever that is for your neck of the woods!
No apples yet, He’ll pick those this afternoon or tomorrow. Got everything taken care of but I still want to put carrots and green beans in the dehydrator for my soup mix.
Haven’t woven another thing this week but I did knit a hat.
