Jr. Weaver

Chrisbear (31k image)
Grandson Chris finished his bear today. The yarn is some carder waste that I spun up. Chris started on this four days ago and got it sewn together today. He had quite a bit of advice from Gramma but did the weaving and most of the assembly by himself. Now his little brother wants to try. He got about half a block woven today and seems to have the hang of it, tho his attention span is a bit short.
Today Karen (their Mom) read the article in the new Spin-Off by Veronica Cox that featured a picture of my loom, and now wants to try her hand at Kool-Aid dying and the spinning wheel. More fiber addicts! 😀

  1. Veeerrryyy niiiccee! 🙂 What kind of eyes did you use? I was thinking of just getting some dark beads from the craft store for mine. It’s either that or super gluing some of those jiggly eyes on. Mines going to be all rainbow colors. But I love how his looks… all patches of color! Beautiful, beautiful work!

Can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of Spin Off as well! I keep telling dh to just order me a subscription, because we always go through the big bookstore hunt! Uggh! Sometimes it’s at the one store sometimes at the other.

I did a batch of kool aide dying last week and the cherry flavor is now the most loved color of the kiddo’s! I love the grape. It came out all soft grey purpley! 🙂

  2. That bear is wonderful, love the color & texture!

Is that lime thing behind him holding his glasses on? If so, it’s something we might need for Harrison… not for Micah, though, as he keeps falling asleep with his on!
