TA-DA! A major FO!

The Quilt!
Believe it or not it finally after three years FINISHED! I took the pictures on Grandmother’s bed because I couldn’t get far enough away from mine to get the picture. She has a suite sized room. I am tickled pink with this. It looks just as I hoped it would. There is a bit of work to do on the back, weaving in a few ends and some seam finishing but it’ll be on the bed tonight! This is mostly my beginning handspun yarns and yarns I made in workshops or those left from projects. Which is one reason it took three years. I wasn’t really making it with a deadline. But I’m glad to be finished. now I have to come up with a new Major project. Shouldn’t be too hard!

  1. Hazel, thanks for sharing your blog. The blanket is gorgeous. I have been hesitant to try a "sampler" because my little bits of handspun are probably (certainly) not all the same gauge. Looks like I might be able to do it after all. My 12" square has not gotten enough use since last winter. I did get my 84-yr-old mother to give it a try – she’s pretty willing to try new things still!

  2. Just beautiful! I’m going to have to get together all my odds and end yarn and start working on one of these. Right now I have two projects going on my looms. Both color co-ordinated and with an end in site. 🙂 I’ll be sending you more pic’s soon. I even made a doll baby!

  3. Hazel, it’s just gorgeous! What an heirloom…and an inspiration for me to get spinning again. 🙂 I don’t have a loom but a picture sure says a thousand words. I’d have to make a throw because my dh would never give up his duvet .
    Congratulations on finishing it!
