Another method of decorating the blocks is with a chain stitch. The rectangle on this one was worked while the block was on the loom, but could be done after it was off. I just find it easier to do on, but you can decide that for yourself. After I chained the rectangle, I use a weaving needle to work the inside stitches, weaving over 2, under 1 to make the design. I’m sure you can see the potential here, too. Also notice what I mentioned above about being easier to work if the yarn has a consistent texture!

I’d love to hear from any of you who have done x-stitch or any other decorative stitchery on your woven pieces. I think we can share a lot of ideas here to keep each other motivated and weaving!
