We managed Monarch Pass today with no trouble at all. A nice, long, mostly sunny ride. We’re camped in the Pueblo, Colorado KOA this evening. Now we get to plan the next stage of our trip. We might spend a day hiking trails. Cori is still wanting to know if we’re there yet!

This country is magnificent! Harsh, yes, but beautiful in a way no other kind of territory is.
we had to rearrange our travel plans some today not due, as we feared, to weather, but rather to man. A jeep & ATV gathering in Moab that we were unaware of preempted us. We will visit Arches Nat’l Park on our return trip. The weather was not bad and tho our drive ended being a little longer than anticipated we enjoyed the scenery and are now at rest for the night. Hope your day was filled in mild adventures!

I took this when we stopped to let the dog out for a bit, after about our third 7000′ plus pass in a snow storm. We’ve caught up with the one that hit us last night. Now we’re parked at a KOA in Ely, Nevada & it’s snowing hard and 29 degrees.
We may have to rethink our route! π

I don’t know why my pictures seem to be b&w but this was the view from our ‘boon-dogging camp’ this morning. Snowy peaks around us tho only a bit on us, mostly frost. The storm passed over in the night… WINDY! :O Had few minor problems but all in all, a good first day.
April 1. No foolin’!

It’s Catgora harvest time! π she hates it. Well, she hates having her tummy brushed. But just a brief working with the defurbalator shows you why she has to put up with it this time of year. Her language would make that proverbial sailor blush, but she was fairly well behaved for long enough. One of these days I’m going to get this stuff spun up and knit or weave something. It is so fine and soft that it makes angora rough by comparison. But now my nose is going to itch for a couple hours! lol

Yesterday I had one daffodil blooming so the second day of warm sunshine brought a bit of a surprise. A very pretty one, tho!

Mother Nature’s fiber art! She’s strung green beads of new leaves onto the lacy branches of my weeping willow. Isn’t it lovely?! It’s a gorgeous day with a high of 74! There’s a light breeze and the soft perfume of violets that are blooming in the yard & the first daffie is blooming, too. I’m not the only one celebrating this beautiful day. The birds are singing, the squirrels barking, bees and flies, and wasps, and butterflies and moths finding their way in and (usually) out of the open french doors. Robin is, naturally, asleep in a sunny spot on the bed…. but he did go out today for several hours! π
Hope you are enjoying spring at your place! π

The rain has gone and the sun is shining brightly.. It’s nearly 70 degrees so I let the cats out to enjoy it. So where does Robin choose to spend his free time? Old men of any species! π Hope you’re having sunshine!
