Randy got the old Gimmy dug out but the county road was still not open by New Years Eve. You can see him standing there on the edge of the porch, admiring his handywork. He did a lot of shoveling this week!

A view of the woodshed Monday morning before Randy started shoveling. We are okay in one of these storms. Wood heat, propane cook stove and water heater, gravity water system, propane lanterns. But the computer will not run on this gas! Oh well… 😛 I got a lot of work done on my quilt! Have just one more square to weave and the border, which I’m going to crochet.
Granmother has been sleeping in the back kitchen, her main house needing electricty for heat. She is enjoying the adventure. :hehe:

There was no church here in 1953 and Grandmother wanted a church so donated the land and the community built this one. It’s still in use. But I don’t know if they’ll be able to get to it by Sunday!

Picture link above. As you can see I was not driving this week! This was taken early Monday (12/27) morning, during the first snow. We already had over 30 inches. The power was already out and the county (there’s no $ for overtime) had only just started trying to dig out. They had to get the only grader to come dig out the two dump trucks with blades that they usually use to plow snow. They couldn’t handle this one! We just got dug out New Years Day. The power came on again later New Years Day.
A good start to the year! :laugh:

(pop-up above) Here is the block that Eve started with. It was woven on the Quilt Weaver square loom. She said, ” I wanted you to see what I’m making with my quilters square loom. I got some very nice corriedale fleeces and wanted to make a throw for my husband for Christmas, couldn’t decide on doing one in crochet or knitted but I knew I wanted to do squares so he wouldn’t catch on to what I was doing. He has a home office so he is always around and such a snoop! I decided to try to work out a design with the looms and came up with something I like a lot. I have received quite a few comments and questions about the squares from people who either had the looms and hadn’t actually used them yet or people who hadn’t realized you could make something really nice with them. About the only thing I would have changed in this throw design would be to use a larger square to make it go faster… I think.. I’m not sure how the design would look done larger… “

Eve sent this picture of a throw she made for her DH for Christmas. Said when she saw him snuggled up napping later in the day she decided to add a bit to make it bigger and then add a border. Not that it needs a border. It looks great the way it is!
