If you look in the archives you’ll see another picture of this tree taken in January of this last winter. (01/02/2004: “Mother Nature’s Shawl”) It was white at that time, too! We are having a bit of spring rain and cold this week, but the signs of spring are all around. The lawn is dotted with Grandmother’s favorite wildflowers, the dandylion. They are so pretty and their bright faces perk up the grey light these rainclouds pour down on us.
Hope you are having some sunshine where you are and some dandylions, too!
Easter beads

I think I took a half dozen photos of these beads without being able to get a good one. I think it’s the shiney foil foiling me! π But you get the idea. Just roll, the colored side out, into a ball between your palms and then thread them onto a thread. Very pretty. Your young’uns can make their own easily enough.
I love recycling! lol
Happy Easter Egg Vest
I got it done… barely! Didn’t get it properly blocked but I wore it anyway! π I also couldn’t get anyone to take my pic in it so ended up taking it this way. I re-knitted this thing three times to be sure it was big enough and, it is too big now. Natch. Well, if it doesn’t block to size I may just sew some side seams on the machine or I may just wear it like it is. It’s a bit sloppy, but hey! π
Anyway, this is last year’s Easter egg dye. Now that the stuff should be going on sale again, I’ll have to restock! It’s fun! And pretty, I think. If you have a baby in the family it seems to be colors just designed for a toddler.
Hope you all enjoyed your Chocolate bunnies. I saved the pretty colored foil from the little chocolate eggs and am rolling them into beads and stringing them on a thread. I’ll post a pic when they’re all gone, a necklace to wear with my vest. Cheap jewels! lol
The Rock I

He found this big, flat rock up the creek and decided it was perfect for our growing patio. he’s been collecting rocks for it for some years now. It helps keep the mud out of the house and looks nice, too. So he took the tilt trailer, the come-along and some chain and we went after it. I went along as technical advisor and photo journalist. π
The Rock II

Well, here it is all nicely set in place in our growing patio. It was a Herculean labor but a favorite hobby of Himself! And it does look nice.
Disputing the Path
Our walk was enjoyed by all. They all get along pretty good, but the Robin does like his ‘space’ kept clear. There was a little contretemps at the log when Cori got a bit too clse in her hurry to get under the log. π₯ They settled it without violence. Cori went under and Robin went over. π
Going for a Walk
Since the sun is out again this morning I thought I’d meander up the hill and see what the guys are doing. Took both dogs and found that the cats wanted to come, too. They prefer dashing from cover to cover to walking at my heels as the dogs (mostly) do. Robin has to come to me now and then to be petted and let me know what a clever guy he is. Taz is a bit above that sort of thing.
Men At Work

Randy is rebuilding a porch for a friend who is helping him, in return, to clean up the mess left by the logger who took out the many trees brought down by the storm a couple winters ago. Here they are decking (the hard way!) a cedar into the pile to be saved for when he gets his little bandsaw mill running. That’s a ’roundtoit’ project! π
Spring Snow

My forsythia in full bloom and the daffies with their bright faces in the mud again! It must be spring! Oh well, we knew it had to happen, it’s not quite April after all! :hehe:
But I’m okay. I got XM Satellite Radio when I went to town Monday and I love it! We get nothing here in this canyon but one country station… sometimes. Now I have music and I don’t have to go to the cd store and try to figure out what I might like to hear sometime in the future! I can pick when I’m in the mood. There are even comics, old radio drama, new radio drama, news weather, sports… Maybe Randy can hear the games now, too (if I’m not using it! π )
So while I’m stuck at the computer printing instruction books for the looms I can be entertained.
Hope you are having a warm sunny day where you are!
Whoopin’ & Hollerin’!

Got those tickets! My daughter and 4 grandkids will be heading west on May 25th. I’m excited! It’s been 7 years!
